Xabi Alonso: A Sought-After Figure, Yet Succession at Liverpool Under Klopp Not Assured

A former Anfield favorite, renowned for his goal in their 2005 Champions League final triumph, Alonso has experienced remarkable success at Bayer Leverkusen. Leading them to the top of the Bundesliga, two points ahead of Bayern Munich, and securing a spot in the Europa League knockout stages after a flawless group-stage performance.

Upon joining Leverkusen in October 2022, the team was struggling near the bottom of the Bundesliga table after eight games. However, within just 26 matches, they surged to a sixth-place finish and secured European qualification.

While Liverpool holds a keen interest in Alonso, other top clubs are also eyeing the talented manager. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich (both former clubs of Alonso), and even Manchester City, where Pep Guardiola’s future remains uncertain, are monitoring the situation closely.

Despite bookmakers suggesting otherwise, the managerial transition is far from certain, and the decision ultimately rests with Alonso alone.
