Manager Ange Postecoglou Suggests Possible Return from Injury for James Maddison in FA Cup Clash Against Manchester City for Tottenham.

Injured Midfielder James Maddison Could Return for Tottenham Against Manchester City in FA Cup Clash

Tottenham’s midfielder James Maddison, sidelined since November with an ankle issue, may make a comeback in the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Manchester City. Tottenham defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are fit, while City’s Erling Haaland is nearing a return but won’t be available for the upcoming match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (20:00 GMT).

Speaking about Maddison, manager Ange Postecoglou highlighted his unique qualities, stating, “There aren’t too many in the league that are like him,” and expressed how Maddison’s potential return aids their preparation for upcoming challenges.

City’s Haaland, currently tied with Mohamed Salah as the Premier League’s top scorer with 14 goals, has been sidelined since early December due to a foot injury. Pep Guardiola mentioned on Thursday that Haaland is still not ready for the upcoming match but is getting closer, having participated in training.

City’s Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji remains unavailable, but the team welcomes the availability of defender John Stones and goalkeeper Ederson for selection.
