Chelsea Women Possess Potential ‘Top Players’ Within the Club to Fill Sam Kerr’s Position

Sam Kerr has been a pivotal force for the Blues, notching 58 goals in 73 WSL games over four and a half seasons and securing the golden boot twice in that period.

Unfortunately, the 30-year-old suffered a season-ending ACL injury during Chelsea’s training camp in Morocco last week after scoring four goals in eight league matches this campaign. Despite this setback, Chelsea manager Emma Hayes assured reporters ahead of the crucial league clash with Man Utd that the squad harbors enough talent to fill the void left by the Australian international.

Hayes stated, “There’s been positive discussions within the team this week regarding the necessary actions. It’s a collective responsibility, and there are top players on our team capable of contributing to the goals, as seen with Mia [Fishel] when she came off the bench.”

Both Fishel and Beever-Jones showcased their goal-scoring abilities in Chelsea’s 3-1 extra-time victory against West Ham in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
