Newcastle United Sets Price Tag of £11m-£12m for Kieran Trippier’s Transfer to Bayern Munich

Newcastle United is reportedly seeking a fee in the range of £11m-£12m (€13-14m) for the potential transfer of Kieran Trippier to Bayern Munich, as per information from Sky in Germany.

The stated price applies to either a permanent deal this month or a mandatory fee following an initial loan arrangement. However, Bayern Munich is reportedly reluctant to make a substantial investment in the English international.

Sky Sports News has learned that Bayern has initiated talks, and discussions are ongoing to finalize a deal. While Trippier has expressed openness to a move to Bayern this month, Newcastle is hesitant to part with the defender before the transfer window closes.

According to reports from Sky in Germany, not all decision-makers at Bayern are fully convinced about signing the 33-year-old. Simultaneously, Bayern Munich has been pursuing a loan deal for 26-year-old Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain. Yet, negotiations have hit a standstill due to disagreements over an obligation to buy, prompting the Bundesliga side to explore a potential deal for Trippier.

Trippier, who trained with the Newcastle squad on Monday morning, has contributed seven assists in 19 Premier League matches this season. Despite his recent dip in form, the ongoing uncertainties in the Mukiele deal make Trippier a prime candidate for Bayern.

According to reports, Bayern Munich aims to secure an option to buy Mukiele, while PSG insists on an obligation to buy, causing a potential breakdown in the Mukiele deal. As a result, Trippier emerges as a prominent option for Bayern, despite reservations among some key decision-makers. The challenge lies in Bayern’s desire to avoid significant expenditures on Trippier, given his reported annual salary of around €7m to €8m gross. Nonetheless, Trippier remains a top consideration for Bayern in the current scenario.
