Jadon Sancho Returns to Borussia Dortmund: Manchester United Winger Joins on Loan for the Season’s Remainder

Jadon Sancho has rejoined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season from Manchester United. Sancho initially moved to United in 2021 for a fee of £73m but hasn’t played for them since August 2023 following disagreements with manager Erik ten Hag.

Two and a half years after his high-profile transfer to United, Sancho is back at Dortmund, unable to resolve his issues at United. With no foreseeable solution, the 23-year-old has sealed a temporary return to Germany.

Sancho expressed his joy upon returning to Dortmund, saying to the club’s official website, “It felt like coming home when I entered the dressing room. I’m intimately familiar with the club, have always shared a strong bond with the fans, and kept in touch with the management.”

He eagerly anticipates reuniting with his teammates, playing with enthusiasm, and contributing to Dortmund’s goals and Champions League qualification aspirations.

Dortmund is set to pay approximately €3.5m (£3m) for Sancho’s loan, with a possible extra €4m (£3.4m) depending on their Champions League, Bundesliga achievements, and his appearances.

His representatives, speaking to Sky Sports News, shared that Sancho is eager to play and return to his peak form.
